William Cicero Mixson, son of William and Julia Harris Mixson, was b. in Monroe County, GA, Sept. 2, 1834, d. at his home in Coffee County, Alabama, Jan. 29, 1917, bur Old Tabernacle Cemetery, New Brockton, AL . He was a planter, a Justice of the Peace, a Legislator and represented his county in the state legislature, 1892-96. Also a Confederate soldier and was Lt. -Capt., of Company "C" 57th Alabama Infantry. (See his biography in "Memorial Records of Alabama", Vol. I, p. 676). On January 9, 1860 he was m. to Martha Elizabeth Law - b. Sept. 18, 1846 in Macon County, GA, d. in Coffee County, AL, Jan. 10, 1902, bur Old Tabernacle Cemetery, New Brockton, AL . She was the dau. of Isaiah Thomas Law, Jr., and his wife, Nancy Lee. (See item of information concerning the Laws and Lees next in this book).
