"GIVES AWAY HIS RAISE"

"Tallahassee, FLA,

State Rep. Wayne Mixon has donated his first $1,100.00 of a pay raise to brighten Christmas for patients of a hospital for mentally retarded children and inmates of two correctional institutions in his district. Mixon had opposed a bill raising the pay and expense allowance of legislators from $8, 400 to $12, 000, but the bill passed. So he sent the difference between the old and the new pay scale to the institutions. "            (Associated Press)
