Michael Mixon, son of George Mixon (a Revolutionary soldier) and his wife, was b. in Orangeburg District, S.C., about 1790. He d. in Washington Parish, LA, before 1860. He m. Aug 16, 1813 to Martha Dixon, witnessed by he brother Obed Mixon.

 

On Oct. 26, 1810, he was one of a number of people issued a passport by the governor of Georgia to pass through the Indian nations.

He settled in Amite County, MS, where he m. Martha Dixon, Aug. 18, 1813.

 

His lands probably lay in MS and LA, as he is shown in 1816 and 1830 Amite County, MS census, and the 1820, 1840, and 1850 census of Washington Parish, LA
