ELIZABETH T. DYESS of Sabine Parish, La. made application on April 16, 1919 for her husband's Confederate Pension, who had served with Co. "K", 9th La. Regt., surrendered with Gen. Lee's army at Appomattox, Va. She stated she had married Mr. Dyess, Jan. 7, 1867 (by Parson Bradley) at the home of her father, near Sparta, Bienville Parish, La. She and her husband had lived near Pleasant Hill, La. Mr. Dyess had been a cripple for 32 years and died at age 80.
