Nelson Mixon, son of Nathan and Sarahann Sparrows Mixon, was b. in Conecuh County, AL April 24, 1819, d. Nov. 6, 1893. He was one of the sons that chose to remain in Alabama and not to move with his father, Nathan to Louisiana. In 1841 he m. Elizabeth Jane McCall, b. May 15, 1822, d. Jan. 1, 1904.  Both bur. McCall Cemetery, Conecuh County, AL.

He names the heirs of the estate as Martha Mixon, widow, and the following children: Lucretia Thompson, wife of Marion Thompson, Eveline Mixon and Irvin Mixon. The 1870 census of Caldwell Parish, LA, shows Martha Mixon and three children previously named with her. The marriage records of Caldwell Parish discloses that Eveline Mixon m. J.J. Warren on Dec. 18, 1872.
