Pea Ridge Cemetery, Burnsville, AL.  A planter and a Confederate soldier, he enlisted May 2, 1864 in Co. "G", 12th Miss. Cavalry. He m. Mary A. Thompson of Autauga County, AL, Jan.23, 1873.

Charles Mixon, Ensign, Capt. Taylor's Company from N.C. in the Revolutionary War, enlisted April 2, 1777, omitted Sept. 11, 1777. (See Colonial Records of N.C., Vol. 16, p. III2)

In 1821, when the unclaimed lands that had been set aside for the Revolutionary Soldiers was being given to the University, Cyrus Davis of Wake County, said he knew Charles Mixon (killed at the Battle of Brandywine) and that he thought he was a foreigner.
