Edward (Ned) B. Mixon, s. of Jesse and Sarah Bowen Mixon, was b. probably in Bulloch County, GA about 1810, d. Nov. 6, 1887 in Wilcox County, GA CA 1827, he m. Lucinda Posey - b. 1811, d. 1895. He was a planter, a farm overseer, cattleman, and was Bailiff of the Grand Jury of Wilcox County from its beginning until the time of his death. A member of the Masonic fraternity, he had served as Master of his Lodge for a number of years.
