George Marion Mixon, attorney of Cordele, Georgia, s. of John Raleigh and Lois Nita Smith Mixon, was b. at Rochelle, Ga., June 16, 1905, d. Jan. 22, 1990. He heads the firm of Mixon and Forrester, Attorneys at Law, in his home city. Always interested in civic and religious affairs in his area, he is a past President of his Kiwanis Club, a past Commander of his local American Legion Post, is a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Official Board of his Methodist Church.  He is a former Chairman of the City Commission of Cordele, which is an office similar to that of a Mayor, and is a past President of the Second District, Georgia Municipal Association. In demand as a public speaker (when his time permits), he gave an outstanding story on Thanksgiving at his Kiwanis Thanksgiving Day program, Thursday, November 25, 1971. His local newspaper, The Cordele Dispatch, devoted a full page to the message. On March 26, 1944, he m. Beulah Belle Fraser - b. Sept. 8, 1909 at. Tishimingo, OK, d.
