
Preface
This story is part one of The Monster at Magnesia Springs series. Based on an entry in my mother’s diary from the year 1959 in which she recorded events of each day, often mundane things of a housewife’s life in the 1950’s. With three small children at home, she recorded things like “I washed clothes this morning and boy was it cold!”. Clothes were hung outside on the clothesline to dry and doing it in the cold wasn’t much fun, although I loved the smell taking down fresh sheets off the clothesline.
It was a small diary, her entries were brief and stated the basic facts, people, places and events and always…. food. She seldom offered any opinion or embellishment.
