So what really happened to Osceola’s head? Was it lost in the fire, was it taken to Paris, or is it sitting on a shelf in some dark basement. Some say the ghost of Oceala’s head has been seen floating in the room which head was removed at Fort Moultrie, some say they have seen it floating in the street outside the house which Dr. Weeden lived in St. Augustine. But we do know where his body lies.
When a full moon falls on the day of his death, the headless ghost of Osceola rises from his grave and roams the grounds of Fort Moultrie searching for his lost head.
