By 1833 of John and Elizabeth Mixson’s sons were married and starting families of their own. The youngest son, Charles Jones Mixson married a local girl Mary Riley in 1832 and in March of 1833 their first child was born who they named Sarah Winifred Mixson#760. Charles’ older sisters Lavicy and Susan had married and moved to their husband’s farms and his older brothers had built houses of their own so Charles and Mary remained at his father’s plantation and over the next dozen years would have six more children.
