Sonny continued telling Albey:
"She sits on her porch drinking a bottle and throwing big knifes at trees. D' you think you can help her?"
"Son, do you believe in our Father in Heaven?"
"Yessir."
"Good. And do you know that King Solomon said to 'Trust in Him with all your heart and He'll show you what to do'?"
"I think so, Sir."
"Good, Son, and do you trust that He can help us help the Knife Lady?"
"Yessir."
"Me too, so don't you fret none. I'll get your daddy and Billy and some of my bunch, and we'll see what we can do to help the Knife Lady."
Sonny went on back to play with the other children, and Albey said mysteriously to himself, "It has begun. 'And a little child shall lead them'," and began to walk around the yard, approaching selected members of his party, including Rufus, Mary , Betty and Billy, and speaking privately to each one.
Soon a group of men and ladies were having a strategy meeting in the living room: Albey, Billy, Rufus, Mr. Pisachube, John Lincourt, Tom Tondalayo, and X Brands; and Mrs. Yark, Betty, Mary, and Mrs. Pisachube. Albey said,
"We could use another man and one more lady here; any recommendations, Uncle Rufus?"
"We thought you'd never ask!"
and all heads turned as Barbara and Morris entered the room.
