Aunt Vonnie went back to check on the little ones and Yark walked back to the "Rescue Raschelle Group":
"Folks, let me be a-tellin' y'all the order we aer to march over to the Knife Lady's, and our final poe-sitions oncet we reach the Knife Lady's porch. This-here aer the order of the march:
1. Uncle Rufus out front with Johnny bee-hind 'im.
2. Then myself, Tom-Tom and X.
3. Next will come Billy and Morris.
4. Leading the line of ladies will be Mr. Pisachube, with Mrs. P. bringing up the extreme rear.
"When we aer in sight of the house, which is mighty well hid by woods I'm told, we aer a-usn the porch as our pivot point, since that-thar's whar Miz Raschette's most likely to be a-settin'. Even if-n she be not sitchiated thar, if-n when we hail her, and she comes a-steppin' out-n the house, thar's a good chance hit'll be the porch door she exits, thereby a-steppin' onto the porch. So when we-uns aer a-spottin' the porch, Rufus, Johnny, myself, Tom, and X'll continue to move in a circular pattern 'roundin' the porch, but still under cover of trees. Tom, X and I'll be a-haltin' and assumin' a position on a die-reck radius, par-pandicular to daed centre the porch. "Uncle Rufus and Johnny will continue on a steady arc on that same ee-maginary circumference and station them-theirselves at a POE-sition at a radius 90 DEE-grees from mine, and straight out from where the porch j'ines the house. "They-uns will also try to stay invisible to Miss Raschelle, if-n she aer a-chancin' to be on t'porch, but they must be able to have a clear look-see. "As fer you, Billy and Morris, I want y'all to be in the same kinder poe-sition as John and Rufus, jes on t'opposite side of the porch, or what you could say, the 'near' side, since that's the side we aer marchin' in on."
