In 2001 I made a TV and stereo cabinet consisting of two six-foot-tall cabinets for TV and stereo equipment with a lower 16-inch-high cabinet between them for the TV to sit on.  This was before wide flat screen TVs so the TV cabinet I made 30 inches wide, the size of the largest CRT TVs of the day. I had a 29-inch RCA which was almost two feet deep and weighed like 80 pounds.  The two tower cabinets on each side of the TV stand had adjustable glass shelves. One accommodated all of the equipment, Cable TV box, stereo receiver, VCR player, DVD player and cassette player. All the cabinets were made from a combination of solid and plywood veneer cherry wood.

I use the left cabinet  as a display case. The middle TV stand cabinet today (2024) I use to store shoes in.
The second vertical cabinet I gave to my daughter.
