I Want To Cry

I don’t want to think about
What I don’t want to hear
Those last words from him
That I would hold so dear
I want to cry.

He asked me to bring his shaver
He asked me bring his mirror
He asked me to shave him
As I do so
I want to cry.

This is not how I want
To remember him
As a child he did for me
I now do for him
I want to cry.

As he weakens
His will is strong
His desire to stay
Here with us
I want to cry

Perhaps it is time
This I do not know
I want to tell him
It is ok to let go
I want to cry

I remember my mother
Laying there so
This I told her
And it became so
I cry.
