Dearest Morris

How are you, my honey?  I was so mad, I didn’t get a letter yesterday and your promised me.  I’d better get one tomorrow!    Goodness, we’ve been so busy since we’ve been here.  We got here Friday about 3 o’clock.  Friday night my uncle Bart info Bart is Bart Schwander, Barbara's Mother's brother.
and his girlfriend took Sue & I to Grand Rapids to see my aunt & uncle up there.  Then he took us to see the city.  It really has changed.  Dearie, do you know they have a car lot in every block. And cars are so cheap.  You can get a 46 or 47 car for $600.  I just wish I had my inheritance and I would by you two cars.  Gosh, I wish you were here, I know you could get a good bargain.

You will have to excuse my writing as I’m out in the yard and I’m writing on my lap.  We’re almost ready to eat.  Isn’t it awfull we didn’t go to church this morning and daddy is now washing his car!!

Yesterday we didn’t get up til 10:30. And then Sue & I went up to Grandma’s restaurant, and we wanted to work so she let her other girl that was working go home.  And did we work! Honestly, she had more business.  It was fun tho.  Seeing I never worked before. Then last night Helen had a date to go skating wand she wanted me to go along, so I did.  But I didn’t skate as they were out of skates with shoes on, and my shoes won’t hold skates.  So I sat and talked with Helen’s boyfriend. Honestly, they all own their own skates down here, as they go skating twice a week.  And can they skate!!  (my cousin is sitting here reading this over my shoulder) The Brat!!

How do you like this pen!  Its’ my aunts. Its three colors in one, you will have to get me one, won’t you honey!!

Sue, Helen & I didn’t get up till 11:30 this  morning.  We ate breakfast at 12, o’clock.  Almost as bad as you, huh?  Sue went to the show last night with my cousin.

Well I just finished my dinner so will  no finish this letter.  Remember what I said about Helen?  Well, she isn’t have bad.  She isn’t any worse than Sue or I.

What did you do last night?  (Sat. night) I hope that girl in Williston goes on a vacation some where far away.  I don’t know why but I keep thinking about her.  I bet you missed me last night, didn’t you?  I sure missed you.  Just think if I were home I would be with you right now.  As is 2:45 and that’s the time you usually come.

Are you going to church tonight?  I don’t think Sue or me is going, for we’re going to take care of Freddie.

Oh, I forgot to tell you.  Grandma owns a restaurant and she never cooks at home, so we eat at the restaurant just any time we feel like it.  No dishes or anything.

Well, I’ll close for now, and I’m not writing you again till I hear from you.  I bet your forgot me, and you’d better not have.  Tell me everything you have did this past week.

Love ya' always
Your sweeite pie
Barbara

P.S.

My aunts were after this and I had to shield it.  They tired to read it & this is what happened to it.
