Dearest Darling,

I’m here at home with nothing to do, so I thought I would answer your letter that I know I will not get.     

Freddie and I just finished lunch. And he has now gone to bed.  I went to the dr. this morning and he said my blood pressure wasn’t so low that it would give me all these headaches, but it was probably my eyes.  So Sat (I think) if I can get an appointment with Dr. Russell, I’m going to him and let him check my eyes.  The dr. today also gave me some medicine a tonic to make me gain weight.   I told him I’ve taken 50 different tonics before in my life, to make me gain and each one never did any good.  But he said this would!  I got weighed and I only weigh 98.  I bet those old scales were wrong when I weighted 102.  I knew I hadn’t gained any weigh.  He said I ought to weigh at least 115!  Goodness, what if I do gain that much, I’ll be pretty plump!!  What if I get real fat?  Would you still love me?     

Darling I went to bed at 7 o’clock last night; cause my head hurt and the lights went out about 6:15.  We had to do dishes by a flash light.     

Sue got a letter from James D. this morning; I was hoping I’d get one, but maybe tomorrow morning.     

Well, darling I’ll close for now and I still love you, but you already know that.  Oh, Yes that letter was very sweet, I read it Mon. morning; I was to sleepy Sun. night.     

I’ll see you Friday night at 7:30.  I’m not going to cheer Fri. night because of my head aches.  So we’ll have a good time.  Bye, Bye. I love you

This is the answer to that letter you gave me Sun. night.  And if I get another letter from you I’ll answer it.  P.S.S. I was just thinking what if you mother read this!  Boy, she would think I’m awfull.  Well, she would know I love you anyway.   Love you, Barbara.
