I think that her father was concerned she and Sue would get married was the reason he wanted them to go with him.

Dearest Darling,

Seeing I have a little free time I will write you as I promised.  I only hope you keep your promise now.

We didn’t do hardly anything at school today.  I worked 3 periods on my term paper today (but talked most of the time) and only wrote 4 pages!  Isn’t that awfull?

I have to have supper ready at six and its’ only 4:30 now.  So I have plenty of time.

Darling guess what! You know that filling station on the left hand side of the road just before you go into Oklawaha, well anyway it burned do the ground last night.  And just pass Oklawaha a little a semi truck full of meat burnt about 12:30 last night and it was till burning this morning.  And this afternoon the grass all around it was burning.  The man that lived above the filling station jumped out a window and broke both legs.  His wife was rescued by Mr. Lenard. This makes the 3rd file in Oklawaha within a year.

Boy did I have a sore throat this morning.  Mom sprayed it about noon it got better.  I hope I didn’t give you one.

Daddy just came in with a man who is looking at the house.  I hope he will rent this place then we will be able to finish our house.

Darling at the Drive-In Theatre the 15,16,17 (I believe) the picture “Mom and Dad” is showing.  Have ever seen it?  Oh, its’ the one I told you about.  All the kids at school are dying to see it.

Well I’ll finish this and close for now.  Darling I’ll see you Fri night.  Remember I love you.

Love always
Barbara

P.S.
Dad said this morning that when he goes to Wis. In June that Sue and me are both going with him.  Darling, I’ll never be able to work and how will we ever get married?
