Sun. morning
Dearest darling,
Darling, please don’t go in the Navy! I’ll come home
and marry you. Honey that was the shock of my life, yet I was glad
cause I know you still love me. And I know I love you.
We were supposed to go to the beach last nite, but your letter came
just before we left and after I read it I just couldn’t go. So I
got excused. The I had a talk with Dr. Watson (he and I was the
only one here.) I am going to call you Mon. (Tomorrow) if Fae will
lend me the money as I have 1 penny to my name.
If you really are going Wed. to take you phy. Exam then darling limp
in, or do something. Please honey make them not take you. Tell them
of you bad leg. And darling (I’ll not go home, that all there is to
it) I’ll come home any time you want and we’ll be married. Dr.
Watson said that if you are rejected that he believed it will be the
Lord’s will for to get married then. And he said I could come home
any time. I wan to. So darling please don’t let them take you. Get
rejected. Honey, I love you, I want to marry you. I don’t know why
I ever came down here anyway.
Darling everytime I read your letter all I do is cry, so honey
please write me a letter and tell me that you will try & get
rejected and that we will be married just as soon as possible.
Please make it still the 1st of Nov. Honey I know we can get an
apartment. Oh darling I love you.
I don’t know what you were talking about, about a telephone call. I
know daddy did call Jimmy and ask him to come work for him. Honey
what else did you mean. Darling you know how Jimmy lies. When I
get home I’ll tell you something else about him, and you will know
then.
Oh yes darling I’m coming home next week end. Dr. Watson said I
could. Probably it will be Fri. afternoon. If I get some money
from home I’ll come on the bus. Maybe Earnest will come. But I’ll
come. And I will try and see you. Please darling I have to see
you. I will return the ring then if you want me to, but I am gonna
try & talk you into letting me keep it. Honey you don’t know how
much that ring has helped me since I’ve been here. I make believe
it is you. I make believe it is you. Darling please don’t take it
away.
Well my darling I’ll close as it’s almost time for breakfast & I
still have to dress. By the way they have awfull food here. I
nearly starve. And I don’t like it here either. Please darling
don’t misunderstand me. I am willing to marry you still in Nov. I
love you & want you. Darling you were not meant to be alone, we
were meant to be married. I love you.
Lots of love,
Your Nov. wife,
Barbara
P.S.
Please darling
Write me it’s so
lonely up here.
It was so funny to wake up this morning & not have you here. I sure
missed you.
