Benjamin L. Mixon, son of George Jackson Isaac Mixon and Amelia Bankston, was b. Jun 26, 1839, d. 1902, m. (1) Oct 26, 1858 to Anna m. Coburn, m. (2) Dec 24, 1865 to Martha Ann Agee, b. 1842, d. Mar 24, 1918.  Both Benjamin and Martha bur. Highland Park Cemetery, Kirksville, Adair County, MO. Benjamin was a prisoner of war at the close of the hostilities, and impressed into the Federal Army and fought against the Indians. After his final discharge he studied medicine and was for many years an outstanding physician for his time and community.
