Lorenzo Simeon  Mixon, s. of Millby and Martha S. Mixon, was b. 1834 in Darlington County, SC, died with measles in the Confederate Army, Seventh (Nelson's) Battalion, Infantry (Enfield Rifles) Mi-R, Feb 10, 1862, he m. Oct 31, 1858 to Mellison Adella King, b. 1840, d. 1880. Both their children were b. in Kershaw County where Mr. Mixon owned lands.

John S. Mixon, s. of Millby and Martha Scarborough Mixon, was b. in Darlington County, SC, 1836. A Confederate soldier, 7 Batt'n (Enfield Rifles), South Carolina Infantry (Nelson's Batt'n.), he was killed in the Battle of Drewry's Bluff, May 21, 1864. He also lived in Kershaw County, SC, where he had bought lands from his older brother, Simeon. About 1860, he m. Julia King, b. Mar 1842, d. ____ (probably a sister to borther Simeon's wife, Mellison King).

Note: 1900 census lists dau. Elizabeth, b. Aug 1873 and Harriet , b. Jul 1875, being born after John died so may not be the same Julia..  There is a record of Julia King marring a John Mixon in 1873 so this could not be the same John S. who died in the civil war .
