Mr. Mixon is a widely known canner and packer and an ardent supporter of civic affairs in his home city of Plainview, TX He and Mrs. Mixon celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in September, 1967.  Both bur. Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Plainview, TX.

May 2, 1909, dau. of Sydney Lee and Eva Daniel Eakin of Chilton Fals, TX. "Bob" is one of the original organizers and promoters of the annual Mixon Family reunion, which let been held on Sunday preceding_, Labor Day for some years. Except for the years 1970 and 1971, Bob has been President of the Association, and his wife, Myrtle Eakin Mixon, has been Secretary and Treasurer. Their home is in Dallas where bob operates "Mixon Industries", - manufacturing, counter tops and bars, fixtures and displays, custom built cabinets, kitchen designs, and doing general mill work. His firm deals in kitchen appliances, range hoods and operates a retail music center.

Aug 4, 1933 at Kaufman, TX He was an honor graduate in law in 1955 at the University of Houston, with the highest grade average ever achieved there. "John Mixon, an assistant professor of law at the University of Houston has received a $6500. 00 grant from Yale University to work toward his doctor of juridical science degree. Mixon, who will take a leave of absence from the university, will spend a year at Yale beginning in September. The 27 year old lawyer received his LL. B. degree from the university in 1955, with the highest grade average ever achieved in the University of Houston College of Law. "
