Note: John Leslie Mixon in his book The Mixon-Mixson family, combined two Meridith Mixon’s. The first was shown in the 1790 and 1800 census which places his birth abt 1765. The second was in the 1850 and 1860 census which places his birth abt 1813. I believe the second is the son of the first which is reflected here. Larry Mixon

Note: Several genealogies on ancestry.com list this James Mixon as son of Meridth Mixon. I can find no direct evidence that makes this connection but Meridth Mixon died in Georgia at the time James is shown to be there so James could be Meridth’s son.
