Susie Byrd, dau. of Edward and Erie Hildreth Byrd, was b. Feb 15, 1911, d. Sep 2, 2012, bur. Westview Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, AL, m. Mar 31, 1932 to James Waitus Maddox, b. Jun 26, 1880, d. Jan 11, 1959, bur. Westview Cemetery, Ozark, Dale County, AL. He was a farmer, lived at Elba, Coffee County, AL, where he was Postmaster for several years. Mrs. Maddox holds B. S. degree from Troy State U., and an M. A. degree from U. of AL She has been a classroom teacher for thirty five years, the last fourteen years being in the Enterprise City schools, At the time of his marriage to Miss Byrd, he had been previously married and had two small children, one of which was two years old, the other only one year old.

S. and M. D. degrees from U. of AL They moved to Dade­ville, AL, in 1959, where they maintain offices and practice their professions, East Tallapoosa Clinic and Hospital.
