Julia Lois Mixon, dau. of John Monroe and Julie Williamson Mixon, was b. Jun 14, 1893 (1900 census age 9=1891), m. S. H. Burney. died at Franklin, LA, Tuesday, Nov 23, 1971, where she had gone to visit a niece, Mrs. Sherrill Mixon Vinzant. Funeral services were held the following Friday at the Ozark Baptist Church, burial followed in Westview Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ross Thomas, Sr., of Ozark, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burney had operated the Mixon Hotel at Ozark since 1918.
