Prominent Mississippians  

The subject of this sketch, Hon. W. B Mixon, one of Mississippi’s noblest sons, is a native of Amite county, Miss., and was educated at the public schools and at Gillsburg and Mississippi College at Clinton, and graduated in law at the Columbian University of Washington, D.C.  Leaving school, he taught for four years and became county superintendent of education for Pike county, and then elected principal of Graded School of McComb City, hoding that position for two years, and during the while rad law and commenced the practice.  By close attention the built himself up and is considered one of the leading attorneys of the Pike county bar.  He married Miss Mabel Craden, of Pike county, and has only one son.  By religion he is a Baptist, is a Mason, an Elk, A K. of P. and a Woodman of the World.   In 1805 he wa elected to represent his district in the state senate and served with distinction for four years.
