Anthony Windham Mixon, s. of James Hugh Mixon and wife, Mary Jane Mixon, was b. in Sumter County, S.C., Nov. 14, 1826 (could have been b. in Darlington District), d. June29, 1878 in Franklin Parish, LA He was a grandson of Samuel Mixon, a Revolutionary soldier. Mr. Mixon was a Confederate soldier, enlisting at Elba, AL, Sept.25, 1863 and was assigned to Capt. John C. Brown's Company of Cavalry, a local defense unit. He migrated from his home in S.C. to Georgia where he met and married Sarah C. Gibson, and they lived in the Milledgeville area. Shown in the 1870 census of Autauga County in the 1870 census, they moved to Franklin Parish, LA

Big Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, Dothan, Houston County, AL. No children by her last marriage. She and Mr. Mixon had the following children.
