Jan. 1, 1991
   Had our annual New Years Eve Party at Libby & Ernie’s house.  Had a good time.
 
Jan. 16 – my 59th Birthday today.
   We went out to eat dinner at Steak & Ale with Betty & Billy.  Got back home, turned on TV and saw that the U.S. declared war in the Middle East in the Persian Gulf against Saddam Hussein in Iraq.  This war as called Desert Storm.
 
Jan. 19
  10 visitors from England arrive for a 2 week visit to our church & community.  Barbara & Alan Johnson stayed with us for 6 days.  Our Baptist Women had a beautiful tea for them at the church upon their arrival.  They were so “lovely” and we really enjoyed having  
them in our home.
 
Jan. 22  
 I had a wart cut off my finger today.
 
Jan. 30
  Sue came up & Morris, Mom, Sue &  I went to Zephyrhills for the day to see Bob, Ellie, Betty, Marie, Jim, Helen & Fred.
 
Jan. 31
    Annual WMU-Brotherhood Banquet at  First Baptist Church tonight.  Betty, Billy, Morris & I all went.  We were honored as parents of missionaries serving in Foreign Fields.
 
Feb.1
   Morris & I went to the Dedication of the new Chemistry Building & a Bar B Q luncheon.  I visited Physics dept for about 1 ½ hr.  Good to see all my old friends.
 
Feb. 5, 6, 7
   Morris & I went camping at Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine.
 
Feb. 9
   Had a Sunday School Party at Pat & Glenn Criba’s house.
 
Feb. 11
   Libby & Ernie & us went to Colson Martin’s funeral today.
 
Feb. 15
   Morris & I took Meals on Wheels to the poor today.

Feb. 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28.
   Morris & I went camping in west Florida.  Camped at St. Georges State  Park & then at St. Joseph’s State Park. Real nice weather.
 
March 9
   Gary & Diane gave Connie a  surprise 40th Birthday Party tonight. Everything was done in black!  Even the cake!
 
March 12
 Dalton Harrison was operated on today for prostate cancer.
 
March 12-15-16
   Went to Macon, Ga. To the Cherry Blossom Festival.  Stayed in a hotel room.  All who went –      Chris & Henry Coburn,  Libby & Ernie St. Jacques, Zella Mae & Monroe Hedrick, Rosalie & O.D. Thomas, Carolyn & Lamar Upshaw, Anne & Ed Majors (It was Ed’s B’day) Eleanor & Clarence Kiggins.   Not many blossoms out this year, but we had a great time.

    Morris & I went camping at Alexander & Salt Springs in the Ocala Nat. Forest. Had great weather.
 
April 4
   Zack got his check ($430) from Warner Brothers for being in the  movie “doc Hollywood”.
 
April 5
   We did Meals on Wheels today.
 
April 12-13-14
   Went camping at Cedar Key for the Arts Festival.  Left Sat. afternoon & went over to Zella Mae & Monroe’s house for a S.S. Party (Fish Fry). Spent the night in our camper in their yard & came home Sunday afternoon.  
 
April 15-16-17-18
    We went to Gary & Diane’s Condo with Mom, Bob & Ellie.
 
April 19
   Baby sat for Zack, Coral & Katie so Mark & Beth could go out to eat for their anniversary.
 
April 28,29,30  May 1,2   
   Spent the week with Libby & Ernie at their time sharing Condo at St. Augustine Beach.  She cooked one night and I cooked the next night. Tues. we all went to Jacksonville (we stopped by & picked up Louise  Turner) to attend Pete Arms (one of our  former S.S. members) funeral.  He died of an heart attach (on the golf course!)  We visited Chuck & Jessie Cooper one night & talked til 11:00 pm. We had a good time.

   Janice & Victor came home from Brazil on Medical leave (his mother died day after they got home)  
 
May 7
    Morris & I both got new glasses today.
 
May 10
   Took mom & grandma Mixson  out to eat tonight at Steak & Ale for Mothers’ Day.
 
May 12
  Mothers’ Day   Gary called & invited us over for Mothers’ Day Supper which he and Corky cooked for Mom, Connie, & Me.  (Diane was visiting Eric). Had roast beef etc.  They even did the dishes!

   Carole was here visiting Mom. Sue got here on the 16th.  We all went out to eat lunch.

    Sunday – Went to the Feaster reunion at the Dixons old homestead.

   I had to go to the Dentist  Dr. Samuels today.

    Morris went to Dr. Brashear today for his annual checkup.

   I went to Dr Brashear today for my checkup.
 
May 23
   Helen, Marie & Betty came up today to visit Mom & me.

    Connie wet to visit Carole & Took mom along.
 
May 26
    Took Beth, Mark & kids in motor  home to St. Augustine Beach for  the Day.  Met Diane & her kids there.  
 
May 27-31
   Mom went to visit Carole this week.

    Morris took a stress test today.
 
June 7
    We did Meals on Wheels today.
 
June 8
   Went to 50th wedding anniversary  part at Flemington Church for Sybil & Willie Chitty.
 
June 30
   Kristi & Joe Frank move to Dothan, Al. June 20 – Aug. 2 – 6 weeks & 2 days left for our vacation in our motor home.   Spent 10 days on the Blue Ridge parkway.  Spent Jul 1-5 near Larry & Julie’s in Virginia.  Visited Corning,  New York, Niagara Falls, Canada,  upper Eastern Michigan & 2 weeks with Bob & Ellie at Sandy Pines in Michigan.    David leaves for Austria to see Brenda & Tom.
 
August 7
    Morris buys a Toyota Truck for his 65th Birthday!
 
August 15
    Woke up about 10:30 pm & our motor home (ITASKA SUNFLYER) was on fire.  Started by a faulty refrigerator.  Before the fire dept could get it out it burned completely up on the inside & the outside wall near the refrigerator.  It was a total loss.
 
Aug. 16
    We did Meals on Wheels today.
 
Aug. 22
Our old friend Billy Storey (went to football games with them – several times in their motor home) died.  His funeral was today.  
 
Aug. 15-21
    Dixie goes to Dothan, AL. to visit Kristi, Joe Frank & baby Jordan in their new home.
 
Aug. 23
   Morris’s B’Day (65 years old). Had a SS party.
 
Aug. 24
    Went to Orlando to pick up David from the airport. (Back from Austria)
 
Aug 27
    Henry Coburn went to hospital with heart problems.  Had heart bypass surgery.  Did fine.
 
Sept. 1
    Had our annual Family Reunion & Mom’s 79th Birthday Part at Gary & Dianne’s house.  Everyone except Brenda & Tom & Larry & Julie were here.  Beautiful day.  
 
Sept. 7
    First football game of the season San Jose State.  We won.
 
Sept. 14
   Played Alabama – we won
 
Sept. 19
    Had our annual WMU Banquet at the church.
 
Sept. 21
   Played Syracuse, NY in NY & lost!
 
Sept. 24
   Brenda & Tom went to Bulgaria for a Missions Conference.  They told us the news.  They are resigning from the Foreign Mission Board & will be home for good next July (1992)
 
Sept. 25
   Bought our new motor home from a couple here in Gainesville. A 27 ft. Pace Arrow.  Really nice & clean & only 29,000 miles on it.  It’s a 1984 mode.  We live it!  
 
Sept. 26
   Sue came up.  We went out for lunch.
 
Sept. 27
  Had a SS class meeting at Libby & Ernie’s house.
 
Sept. 28-29
   Betty & Billy & use left for Orlando  early today.  We visited International Studies where we spent the day.  (Not as good as we thought it would be).  The Gators played Mississippi State Sat. here in Orlando.  We Won!  Stayed at a really nice hotel.
 
Sept. 28
  Beth took girls to see Sesame Street Live at the O’Dome.
 
Oct. 5
    Gators played LA State in LA.  We Won.
 
Oct. 12
   Played Tennessee here.  We Won  
 
Oct. 15-24
   We took the motor home to Franklin, N.C. for a week.  Stayed at Ft. Tatham campground near Dillsboro  & Franklin.  We took the truck too (towed it).  Beautiful cool weather.  We went some place every day.  Met Doug & Louise Turner one day.  Went to Highlands to see Wendall & Jean Turner one day.  Carolyn & Lamar Upshaw came by & we spent the day riding around with them.  We all ate supper Wed. night at the Garrett House.  We rally have a lot more room in this motor home & we love it.  We bought back 7 bushels of apples in the back of the truck.
 
Oct. 19
  Homecoming – We missed it!  Played N. Illinois – We won – Oct. 26-no game.
 
Oct. 27
    Sunday –   Gave Grandma Mixson a surprise birthday part at her house.  90 years old.  About 40 people came for cake, ice cream & drinks.  She got a lot of nice presents.  
 
Oct. 28
  Billy Yawn’s B’Day.   We went out to eat.

Nov. 1,2,3
   Left for Auburn, AL for the football game with Betty & Billy.  We stayed at a motel.  Saw Charlie & Emily.  We won the game.  Had a good time.
 
Nov. 4
   Kristopher’s 15th Birthday.
 
Nov. 8
   SS Party at the Kiggins new home.
 
Nov. 9
   Betty, Billy, Evelyn & John & us took the motor home to Jax for the Fl. GA. Game.  It was cold! Cold! Cold!  But we put on plenty of coats, hats, & took blankest to cover up with.  It was a night game.  We won.  
 
Nov. 10
    Brenda’s 40th Birthday.  We called her.
 
Nov. 11-20
   Stringfellow (builders) started remodeling my kitchen today.  They tore out all the old cabinets, floor, & wallpaper. It’s all finished Nov. 20 & it looks beautiful.  All new kitchen cabinets, wallpaper & floor, ref. and stove.
 
Nov. 16
    Betty’s 62nd B’Day – She retired Nov. 22.  Played Kentucky – We won & are the SEC Champs – only 1 lose.  We will go to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans!
 
Nov. 30
   The icing on the cake - We played FSU and won – 14-3!!!!  
 
Nov. 28 Thanksgiving
   Grandma Mixson spent the night with us.  Arnold & Eunice, Mom, Beth, Mark (& kids) & David came here for Thanksgiving dinner.  Dixie went to Dothan to be with Kristi’s family.
 
Dec. 1
  Our 41st wedding anniversary.   After church we went out with Betty & Billy to the Holiday Inn Buffett.  It was real good.
 
Dec. 5
   Dixie had her hysterectomy.  Sue & Carol & I went to the hospital with her.
 
Dec. 8
   I bought Dixie home from the hospital to stay with us.
 
Dec. 13
   Meals on Wheels today. SS Christmas Part at Carolyn & Lamar Upshaw’s house.  Put up Christmas tree.  Coral & Katie helped to decorate it.  
 
Dec. 15
    Morris & I went to “A Walk Through Bethlehem” at High Springs Church.  It was great.  Wat to take Beth, Mark & kids next year.
 
Decl. 17
   Went to Guiding Light Christmas Part at the Hilton.  Mom felt bad so she didn’t go but Betty went with me.
 
Dec. 20-24
   Shopped, wrapped presents & baked for Christmas.
 
Dec. 22
   Called Larry for his B’day.  He’s 39.
 
Dec. 25
   Christmas at Gary & Dianne’s house.  We at 5 o’clock.  
 
Dec. 28-29
   Went to Carol & Dick’s house for Carrie & Peter’s wedding.  It was real nice - about 50 people there.  Mom  & Morris & I spent the night.  Got up & came home about 11:00 am Sunday.
