Remembering Him
I want to remember him
The way that he was
Strong, vibrant, loving
This I know him
For he was always so
Him crying out I hear
Of the pain he feels
His pain so dear
Him wanting to let go,
Yet wanting to stay.
This I will tell him
This I want to say
It is ok to let go
As it is ok to stay
For I love him either way.
I want to remember him
The man, the father, he was
Not this shell
Of a man before me
I see this day.
