Note:

  •  I find it amusing when the says the girl looks worse then and puts dashes instead of a word.

  • I'm not sure who the newly weds are, probaly a close by neighbor, possibly a Mixson relation.

  • The price of gas in 1949 was around 25¢ a gallon so the "lot of money" he would save not driving back to his house would be around a dollar.

Hi Honey,

Will you forgive me for not writing last night.  I was just too tired and went to bed about 7:30.

Honey a week is a long time without seeing you, so don’t forget me and stop flirting with those boys at school.  I can’t flirt with the girls anymore.  I work upstairs and there isn’t but 2 girls up there.  One is engaged and the other is a Spanish or something and looks worse than ------.

Mom said they saw the newly weds today sitting on the porch.  Wonder how it feels to be just married.

Are you going to love me as much as you do now when we are as old as they are.  I wonder what we’ll look like when we get old.

Honey I think Daddy and Mom are going to Jacksonville for the week end.  So if you’ll make room for me I might send Sat. night down there if you mama will let me.  I’d save a lot of money on gas.

Mama was just in here teasing me about using her paper to write you on.

Well good night Darling, See you Saturday.

Love Always
Morris
