Linz - 2:15 pm
At last we arrived – and there at the gate waving and yelling out, “grandma and grandpa” was our three darling grandsons. Kristopher and Jeremy were dressed just like little Austrian boys in their lederhosen. I just have to get their picture in them! And our first sight of Andrew – he is so cute. Brenda and Tom greet us warmly. I received one dozen red roses and Morris a big chocolate bar, an Austrian custom. Going through customs was very easy, in fact he just waived us though, even though he did ask two other different people to stop over and they went through their suit cases!
It is only about 15-20 minute ride to Brenda and Toms apartment. Only about 10 blocks from downtown. After we saw the apartment and unpacked we took a ride around the city in their brand new Volkswagen station wagon, diesel fuel. We all just do fit in it! There is a law no children can sit in the front seat so everywhere we go Tom & Morris has the front seats and Brenda and I have all three boys in the back seat with us! What fun!
We took a ride up to the top of the highest hill overlooking the city of Linz. What a pretty sight. At the top is a very old Catholic church which we looked inside of. We crossed the Danube River. We came back to the house for supper of ham and pancakes. After some talking we went to bed and slept very good until about 9 am Monday morning. Kristopher and Jeremy love to crawl into bed with us every morning. They get up about 7 or 7:30 but they wait until they hear us and then they jump into bed and play with us.
