Gainesville - Fort Tatham
1999

June
Went home to get the title for our cabin (lot #4) as we sold it to Pat & Dale Davis (from Alabama) and we bought Buddy & Evangeline Joyner’s cabin, (lot 59) Left Fri. at 3 pm & arrived G’ville at 10:30 pm.  Very good time.  We left Sparky with Betty & Billy.  Went to church on Sunday.  Had supper Sat. night with Sue & Jim, Dixie, Dan, Judy & Vanessa & her 2 girl friends at Sue & Jims house.  As usual it was delicious.

Got up Monday morning & left at 5 AM to return to Ft. Tatham – Made in in 8 hrs.
Lots of rain & hot all this week!

Cabin #4
Mom and Dad sitting on the front porch of cabin #4

I visited them at their first cabin in 1996. Julie and Anne also came but stayed only one night then they went to Knoxville to see Julie’s sister.  Here in June of 1999, they sold their first small cabin and bought another one also at Fort Tatham. The new cabin was much like the first one, being a travel trailer with a roof and additional rooms, but was considerably larger.

July 6, 1999
Cleaned out the cabin – got boxes & stuff at Betty & Billy’s attic, Buddy’s attic and on the porch at Barbara & Bobs place.  Boy, what a lot of stuff we have!  Now we are leaving to go home (left at 6:30 AM) as the Davis’s wanted our place today and we can’t move into the Joyner’s place $20.00 Bw,
Until Aug. 8th.  Bought 2 bushels peaches.

Arrived home (96°) hot, at 3:30 pm (9hrs.) milage 451.7

Wed. Aug. 4 1999

Tues. Sept 14, 1999
Left Ft. Tatham at 6 AM, heading for Gainesville.  Hurricane Floyd heading for the Fla. Coast.  Should hit about Cape Canaveral tonight.   Never hit land, only lots of water which make flooding.

Sat. Sep. 25
 – Left Gainesville at 6 AM – Dixie & Brenda following us.  Dixie is interested in Norman & Iris’s trailer (on the creek).  She love it and buys it over the phone.
