Subject: Computer Frustrations.
I had forgot you were taking this past Monday off. It sounds like
you had a real busy day for a "day off". I have found that I
sometimes need to take some time off in the middle of the week to do
various errands that can't get done on weekends. Usually my work
is flexible enough that I can do it without having to take a day off.
I've never been to Chicago but know that the winters there are really
cold and windy thus I'm not sure I would like it. I always thought
of it as being a blue collar type of city.
Computer support people seem to always be a pain. It is somewhat
of a thankless job, always responding to other people's problems.
Although I typically am able to fix most computer problems myself
sometimes there are things with the network or servers which affect my
computer that I don't have control over so I call the support. At
my current job it typically takes them several days just to respond and
then a day or to more to actually fixing the problem.
Yes snow is fun but ice is a real pain. We often get a lot of ice
in this area and because the temperatures change so much from day to
day. The snow often will be snow the first day, melt some the second day
and the re-freeze to ice the next. If you don't get out and shovel
it while it is snow it will become so hard that you can't get rid of it
till it melts.
I haven't been real busy with the new project on hold. I've been
given an interim task of making a presentation for our division about
what our projects and capabilities are. Not real exciting but
something to do. till later. Larry
