No, I don't watch Star Trek Vogager--I'm not even sure--is that a new
program sequence after the original Star Trek and then the second series
that followed it--the name of which I forget. A couple of years
back I was still watching/taping some of the second series, as I have
discovered a lot of episodes on my unlabeled videos. I may try to
find a popular book on nanotechnology, something I can understand.
Are you reading anything lately?
I try to keep a list of things
you mention that you are reading because sometimes it is a lead on
something good (although I still haven't finished one of those sci fi
books I got about virtual reality--although I want to). I
thoroughly agree about the 17 year investment, as long as you are still
happy or content. Since Julie "left" though, in some ways it seems
to put more on the burden of correcting the situation on you, unless she
gets reconciled with herself and with you to adapt to whatever it is she
is/was unhappy or malcontent over. I basically gave up dating a
long time ago, or perhaps it gave me up, or probably a combination. I
don't like the whole "effort." I enjoy going out, particularly to
movies, dinner, and nature stuff, or just events, but I HATE dates.
I just do a version of "That sounds interesting; I'll meet you there"
rather than the date format. I'm sort of pretty distanced from the
whole notion of feeling I have to be, or even wanting to be "attractive"
to someone. Alabama women are pretty--well there is a phrase some
of use about them--"bowheads." Even today here at work, I saw a
woman who must have been older than I, and she had the "bow"--quite
fancy--tied in her hair--like a little girl would. I'm not talking
about a clip type bow, but a fancy ribbon elaborate bow. The women
here do that and then they wear these little girl empire dresses--which
is a way of saying I don't fit in, at all, with the Southern woman look.
Today I went to a class in Excel. The hospital is converting from
QuattroPro and Word Perfect to Excel and Word. I never learned QP.
I won't use it much, but I won't reject the training because it was
free, and sometime I might use it. I don't have much to put on
spreadsheets here, but I do want to set one up for my journal
subscriptions. I hate to always talk law school, but the grades
finally came out. The prof teaching that class I dreaded/dread
this term gave 50% D's and F's for his class last term, really low.
Rumor has it there were more than that, which is why the grades were so
late, but Administration intervened. I'm in the second part of the
class with them, and last night in another totally unrelated class, many
of them started expressing their anger. The prof tried to be
helpful, but said he didn't want to get into the middle of it about
another prof. But he said he would give us/them some of his
personal notes on the subject. I found out my last grade which was
an A+, in Con. Law. I still probably did not get best paper
though, as there were 3 other A+. I would have to have the best
A+. Tough. Nothing much else new. I'm tired and not
getting much exercise lately, and have been eating too much, or in a way
which is skewed towards late in the evening. I have to watch that.

Bowheads, that's funny.
