Not much going on this week. The new project has been delayed due
to the ATF guy being put on Admin Leave. They have assigned a new
person to the project but he is more of a junior techie and not a
manager. We met briefly with him last week and he seems to have a
lot on his plate and didn't seem real interested in taking on this new
project. Management here wants me to keep pestering him to get
things going, what a pain. I have a few other things to do but
hardly enough to keep me busy every day this week. I've even
caught up on my periodicals so it will be somewhat of a boring week.
I occasionally think about going back for a master's but really don't
want to spend the time on it. I know several persons who have or
are working on masters and they all comment about how much of their time
it takes (as you can really understand). I did look into a couple
of online degree programs but in the end I really don't want to spend
the time on it. I also have not really figured out what kind of
degree I would go for. A masters in business would probably help
my career the most but I would find really boring. A technical
masters would be the most interesting but not something I really need.
Actually I was talking to Julie recently and said that I wish I had gone
into architecture because it would combine my artistic and engineering
talents but I wasn't really aware years ago what architecture was all
about. It came up after we went and saw FLW Falling water and I
got a book about FLW. Well Julie said "why don't you go back and
get an architecture degree". Well, that is something for me to
think about.
I know how you feel about the cabin in the remote area thing, it is
something I also think about. An internet connection would be
really good to have. Actually I keep thinking about starting some
internet/web based business and running from a place in the mountains.
Someday perhaps.

I think that architecture would have been a perfect profession for me, combining my artistic talents with my love for building things. I flash back to 1973 when I met Gina who was studying architecture at the University and I imagine what might have been if I became involved with her and switched my major to architecture, how my life would have been different.
