Subject: Still Around
I've been in a so so mood and haven't felt like writing much. I
decided this morning that I'm not giving myself enough breaks, that I'm
expecting too much of myself regarding work/school/personal
life/housekeeping because what I'm doing is getting behind in one of the
other and then thinking "why can't you keep up." I have to
recognize that one or the other may slip because law school is so time
demanding. I've been giving myself breaks to do a movie once a week, as
otherwise I wouldn't be "going out" at all, but as a consequence my
house is again a total disaster. I still have all the dishes from
my turkey cooking escapade. So, tomorrow I'm taking off to try to
catch back up on stuff. It seems totally stupid to take off work to do
my dishes, laundry, etc., but if not I don't foresee when it will get
done--certainly not in the evenings. I probably need to just take a day
off about every 2-3 weeks, to recapture lost ground. I hope I
don't sound like I'm just complaining, but I just did not seem to factor
in that I would have so little time between semesters of law school.
FORTUNATELY this time, the exam schedule just came out, and I DO NOT
HAVE a "late final." That gives me an ENTIRE extra weekend, which
last time I lost because I had a Monday final. Otherwise, plodding
through Dickens--I like it, but forget about reading it quickly.
Last night I was very restless. I virtually died and went to bed
at 9:30 and slept very soundly, but then woke up at 2:30 a.m. and
basically could not get back to sleep. I've been wanting to read
some children's books I've never read, so I finished a book by Judy
Blume in the late hours. She is a somewhat controversial children's
writer, but very popular. I haven't read any of her stuff.
In a way, reading the children's books is easier on my mind than
Dickens--though people read him in high school. Well, what's up
with you. I don't think I've heard a peep from you in a while.
I've read various places that other court systems are automated. I
think that would be an interesting project, but I don't know about the
hour's commute. My commute is one of my fatiguing factors. I
just find I get TOTALLY tired of it, and its 30 minutes. Yesterday
morning there were two wrecks. Hope you're well.
