I've totally lost track as to whether you are in town or out of town.
This car "thing" has been a nightmare. It is STILL in the shop
(this is Monday morning). This was the THIRD weekend I have not
had a car. Finally, I did get my first call from the shop on
Friday--they called and said, "We really have bad news for you."
Maybe that's a tactic on their part--I thought Oh my God, they can't fix
the car (and they said if they couldn't fix it, it would be left in
pieces or I would have to get a new engine). But the bad news was
that they would not have my car until this week sometime. I've
gotten the bus riding down pretty well. For some strange reason,
I've lost weight--I don't know what that's about--maybe because after
getting home from the bus ride I'm so rattled and worn out I don't eat.
Otherwise, nothing much. Wills Test in Law school--Highest grade
was 68/100. I made like a 50. Fortunately there was a curve.
I was a total couch potato most of the weekend, but on Saturday I did
experiment and walk to the Law School library. Except for the
HEAT, and the fact that there were no crosswalks on the highway and cars
would pull right up and block the way when I was trying to cross, it
wasn't too bad. You know how when you bike instead of driving, you
really see things you don't when you drive a car. That's the way I
felt walking. There was a whole little shopping area back behind
the law school that I never knew anything about--a little gift shop and
things. Leaving the law library I got some taco bell gorditas ( I
really love those) because it was so easy just to walk in and get them
rather then do drive through, or park and go in (which I NEVER do
anyway.) This past week I also had to do the mammogram thing and a
complete physical (all of which I find stressful) so Friday I just got
back to the apartment and died. I wanted to go out for breakfast
by walking up to MacDonalds, but I fixed some tofu with tomatoes and
peppers instead. I really like that, but haven't fixed it in a
while. I just sort of brown the tofu in olive oil, then sauté in
some peppers and tomatoes and garlic. Probably better for me than
a sausage biscuit. Hope you are well. Elizabeth
