Wow snow! Its turning, or already turned, quite cold here as well.
I want to watch the lunar eclipse tonight, but I'm trying to figure out
how to do it and stay warm. I saw the moon this morning when I
went to the mall to walk. It was just about at the horizon setting
and quite full. That makes sense because the sun was probably
right at the horizon about to come up, and to have an eclipse there has
to be an alignment. Well--those rents are steep. Even the
very highest rents around here barely reach that much.
That's why I asked. There is a road near my apartment where some
people have just built new houses. I swear, they are like castles!
Turrets, several stories. They are so HUGE. Personally, and I hope
this is NOT sour grapes, I don't think I would want all that space and
upkeep. If you see the Green Mile will you try and remember for me
the "funny wisecrack" that one of the wardens makes when the young
warden flips out. I have been trying to remember it. Its an
older fashioned way of saying "He's two fries short of a Happy Meal."
Did you read The Green Mile? I checked the public library catalog,
and they don't even have a copy. Things that make me feel "out of
it" around here are: When I asked around about who had seen The
Green Mile, most people didn't know what I was talking about. I
just can't believe people who never go to the movies or read a book,
although it could be that many people don't stay tuned to what’s in the
theatres and just rent videos. Work is off to a drag already.
It is such a let down after going to law classes and feeling up, then
coming here the next morning. There's nothing WRONG with my job.
What I do is challenging. It just doesn't keep me occupied for
very long and I get antsy and want to be out of here--like now.
Why does it not surprise me that a public library in Alabama doesn’t have a copy of the book The Green Mile. The movie was nominated for four Academy Awards although it did not win any, it did win several other awards.
