Subject: The Iceman Cometh
Well, other people are getting the snow, but Montgomery is apparently
going to get a very bad wet ice storm, which the news is saying is worse
in some respects. The warnings were like Y2K magnified and
everybody flocked the stores yesterday. I HAD NO IDEA this was
happening because I left for class at 1:30 and sat out at the law school
all afternoon. I was going to stop, rather unnecessarily, by the
grocery store on the way home, but realized I had left my wallet at work
(I keep it locked up in my desk). When I got home the news was
showing all the long lines at the store of people stocking up. As
I didn't really need anything, I'm glad I avoided all that.
Fortunately because of my rather simple Y2K preps I don't have to do
much. I've still got all my milk cartons of water, dried soups,
etc. The worst thing is they are saying the power might be out.
I did clean up around the apartment last night, esp. dishes in the
kitchen. Right now it seems pleasant. The sun came out, but
it is very, very cold.
