Subject: Message in a message?
Well hello! I just got a message, but it was just a message saying
you had sent a message which I probably didn't get and then a copy of my
message you were replying to. In another words I didn't get "a
message" other than that. Yipes, how did the virus get in? I
always fear that here, as I do so much stuff on this computer. The
ice storm did not materialize, although there was snow, as much as six
inches, in some nearby areas. When I woke up around five my car
was pretty iced over, so I went back to bed and when I woke up around 8
or so, all the ice was gone. I REALLY had planned on NOT going to
work, and in fact by 8 was late, but I went ahead and went to the mall
and walked first, then went on into work. Of course, on the way
in, it started raining, but I heard by then it would not be freezing on
the roads.
It turned out to be a busy day at work, so I'm glad I came in (if I'm
not here the work just accumulates.) Were you snowed in or anything?
Of course, you've got your four wheel SUV, but doesn't that have some
limits? I just finished a book by Richard North Patterson which I really
liked. Gosh, he's written so many, and I can't recall the title
though, so my recommendation might be somewhat useless though. It may
have been Final Judgment. He writes "legal thrillers" to
some extent. Last night after class I tried to peck away at some
of the t.v. shows I've recorded and not watched. As none were
labeled, I didn't know what would pop up. One that did was the
Everest show, trying to determine if Mallory had really made the summit
back in the, I think 30's. It was incredible to hear that he
basically went up in "tweeds" and a silk underwear shirt, and a
windbreaker. If he didn't actually make the summit, he came quite
close. The show centered on the finding of his body.
Otherwise, I went to see The End of the Affair on Sunday. It
reminded me of The English Patient, as one main actor (Fiennes?) was the
same, and because an "affair" was portrayed, with a lot of sexual
detail. I was interested in the movie because it was set in
England during the war, which was when my mother and father met.
I've been feeling pretty good lately, which I attribute to the walking
every morning. I skip Wednesdays because no matter what I always
seem rushed trying to get ready that day, as I have class stuff to think
about for that afternoon. On Sat. and Sun. I walk 45 minutes
instead of 30. I certainly hope I can keep this up. I feel
slimmer, but haven't seemed to lose much weight, MOSTLY because the
walking has made me very hungry. Oh well, sort of
rambling--a little slow at work. I was doing some law stuff in
between patrons.
