Capturing Inner Light
Larry,
In the past, and sometimes now if I reflect on moving, one of my
concerns about finding a good place to rent is that often a good
situation can come to an end, and it can really leave you in the lurch.
That's especially true if it is a private rental, not a major complex.
In major complexes all that happens usually is that each year the rent
goes up! Having my small house paid off here is a good feeling.
I thought your brother worked for the post office as his only job.
It seems like to me that between social security and his post office
pension plan (if he signed up for one) that he would have enough funds
to rent a decent place in Gainesville--but that's none of my business
really--except in terms of how it might become an issue in your
relationship with him. I do wonder if he'll try to sandwich in at
your Dad's place, whether or not they get along.
You'll probably find as I did, that when you retire, many of your daily
living routines and preferences will reshape themselves. That
includes cooking and eating meals. Gainesville probably has many
options like fresh marts, farmer's markets, and coops.
My physician gave me Meclizine, which has similar actions to what you
keep on hand. It is basically an anti-histamine. I didn't
feel too great this morning waking up, as a bit of whooziness is still
persisting. I hope I get past this soon, as I'm seldom out and out
"ill," but I feel a bit that way today.
What do you do about a phone when you travel out of the country? I
presently just use a Tracfone android smartphone as I'm not a heavy
phone user or even data user, but it can't be used in Canada I found
out--at least to make calls, but I don't know about other things.
I don't think I'll need to make calls, and apparently they will shut
down your phone if you try, but I haven't been able to get it clarified
whether I can still use it for things other than phone calls--like in
free wi fi areas at hotels or using it as an alarm clock. I wonder
if "not allowed to use" means don't even turn it on for any use or just
calls. Their customer service isn't much help.
Well, I think I need to break down and take one of those pills (or a
half a one which is what I sometimes have done), as I feel like crap.
