On September 13, 1981, at the age of 79 Grandma, Rosalie Anderson Mixson Yawn was baptized which I thought was odd. I had always assumed that Grandma and Grandpa Mixson were “saved” and were baptized many years before, after all Dad met Mom at the Flemington Baptist Church where Mom’s dad was the minister. After thinking about it, while many times when I was a child, we visited Grandma and Grandpa Mixson on Sunday, but it was always in the afternoon after we had been to church. The only time I ever remember Grandma Mixson going to church was after Grandpa had died and Grandma would go to church with us on Easter Sunday. After Dad died in 2020, I went through a container of Grandma’s papers that Dad had saved and found her Certificate of Baptism. Well she couldn’t take it with her but I’m sure they let her into heaven without it.

The days are getting cooler - the birds are singing - the air feels different - the sun is late coming up in the morning, its still dark at 7:00 o’clock. Still hot up in the day. I have three rows made ready to plant. I planted one in beans
