 In June Anne graduated from veterinarian school and became Doctor Anne Mixson, DVM, I was very proud of her. Julie, me, Julie’s parents and Julie’s sister and her husband went to her graduation ceremony at Virgina Tech in Blacksburg Virginia. While there we stayed at the Mountain Lake Lodge which is about twenty miles from Blacksburg. I had never heard of Mountain Lake before, but Julie and Anne had and told me all about it.  Mountain Lake was where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. I had seen the movie, a romantic dance film, in which “Baby” played by Jennifer Grey falls in love with the dance instructor Johnny, played by Patric Swayze, at a vacation resort that her family was staying at. I don’t usually like musicals or dance films but thought Dirty Dancing was pretty good. The Lodge was nice but overall I thought it was a bit run down and the food at the dining hall was only mediocre, but the view of the lake was spectacular.  

After graduating, Anne returned home to live with Julie and I and she got her first job as a veterinarian at Dell Ray Animal Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia.
