John Leslie Mixson died in 1988 at his home in Dadeville, Alabama and is buried in the Tallapoosa County Memorial Gardens, Dadeville, Tallapoosa County, Alabama.

William Travis Barnett died in 1987 in Fort Worth, Texas. Mitzi (Miladene Marie Musick) Barnett died in 1993 in Fort Worth, Texas. Both are buried at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, TX.

Mary Barnett Curtis, a professional genealogist, died in 2006 in Fort Worth, Texas. Her husband Buford Clarence Curtis died in 2019.  From her obituary…

Tarrant County Historical Society, Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogical Society and Texas State Genealogical Society. She was also editor of the Texas State Genealogical Society's official publication STIRPES and was a fellow of the Texas State Genealogical Society since 1971.

Mrs. Curtis was a businesswoman in the fields of printing, publishing and editing. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis' printing business was established in 1956 in Fort Worth, where they published the The South Fortworthian newspaper. Mrs. Curtis also owned the Family Tree Shop in Fort Worth and co-owned In Print Books Inc. in Houston. She was president of American Reference Publishers Inc.

Both are buried at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, TX.
