continued

10 ZEDEKIAH MIXON, GEORGE MIXON (4), JOHN MIXON III (3), JOHN MIXON II (2), JOHN MIXON I (1)

Zedekiah Mixon, youngest son of George and Elizabeth Mixon, was b. in Hyde County, NC, Aug 1, 1752, d, at his home near Aurora, Beaufort County, NC, Apr 15, 1811.

This record is in an old family Bible that once belonged to a grandson that lived in Georgia. This Bible had a notation "Zedekiah Mixon was born in England". He was a Revolutionary Soldier, member of the Continental Line. He inherited lands from his father, obtained some land grants later, also bought some land and sold some.

From 1789 Beaufort County Tax List, he has 450 acres, also 390 acres in trust for Robert Campeign estate. It is believed that Mr. Campeign was his father-in-law. He left a will and mentioned his daughter, Mary.

Zedekiah made his will Nov 8, 1807, filed Jun 11, 1811, witnessed by Amy Mayo and David Campeign. In it he mentions his wife and five daughters (but not by name), however did mention his five sons by name. Census and other records in hands of his descendants state that wife's name was Mary - b. May 8, 1757, d. Dec 8, 1829.

Some of the descendants of the family living in Georgia have several old letters written from Beaufort County (1820s to 1840s) giving some information about daughters (as well as others), and following is a projected lineup of children.
