William Brown Mixon, s. of Henry Ellzie and Margaret A. Belk Mixon, was b. in Marion County, AL, Aug 29, 1873, d. Apr 8, 1960. At one time he was state senator, 31st District composed of Colbert, Franklin and Marion Counties. He lived first at Phil Campbell, AL, where he was a merchant and in the lumber business. Later he moved to Hackleburg where he served his town as Mayor for three terms. He was a Methodist, a church Icy leader, teacher of an adult class, and had served as chairman of the Board of Trustees, also Board of Stewards. On Oct 13, 1892, he m. Simonetta Patti Freeman of Hackleburg, b. Feb 20, 1869, d. Jun 25, 1940, dau. of Pliny T. and Nancy V. Freeman. Both bur. Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg, AL
