James R. Mixson, s. of Robert Mixson and Dorthy Nancy Gatch, was b. Nov 24, 1818 in Beaufort District, SC, d. May 26, 1896 in Hampton County. Possibly another son of Robert Mixson and his wife, or one of the sons of William Mixson and from age groups, 1840 census, he best suits the latter, but from given names of the children he would be son of Robert Mixson. About 1840 Mr. Mixson m. Rebecca DeLoach, b. Apr 24, 1822, d. Dec 22, 1901, dau. of David Jacob DeLoach, (1752 – 1815) and Hannah Bostick, (1790 – 1849).  Both bur. Sand Hill Cemetery, Varnville, Hampton County, SC
