Ichabod J. Mixon, son of Alexander and Susannah Mixon, was b. 1829 in AL, d. 1910 in Clay County, MS, bur. Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Houston, MS. A farmer and a Confederate Soldier, he enlisted in 1861 in Company "H", 24th MS Inf, married Sabra G. Fulford ca. 1852, who was b. in MS, ca 1834, and d. in MS On Jun 21, 1924 she made her fifth application for Confederate service pension. Ichabod had made two applications, one in 1900 and another in 1905. Sabra's first application was on August 24, 1910, as his widow. Census records indicate the following children as theirs, all b. in Mississippi:

He was a member of Company "K", 18th TX Inf., during the Civil War. in 1851 he m. Susan A. Durrett, b. in NC, Oct 19, 1830, d. in TX, Apr 22, 1875, bur. Corine Cemetery, Jacksonville, TX. The family lived in Chickasaw County, MS, for a few years before moving to TX. Their first child was b. in Miss, all others in TX:
