Jehu Mixon - b. probably in SC, ca. 1800, d. in Carroll County, GA, intestate, Mar 7, 1839. Not found in the 1830 census unless he is the "John" (easily mistaken for Jehu) Mixon shown in the 1830 census of Franklin County, GA Census data seems to be the same, and there was Piney Mixon is listed 1840 census of District 714, Carroll, GA. Both he and Travis Mixon (evidently his oldest son) were members of Long's Company, Wilson's 5th Bn., Georgia Mounted Soldiers, in the Seminole War. His widow, Frances (Piney or Pincy ), b. 1801, d. 1880, was named administratrix of his estate, all consisting of personal property. Both bur. Brightwater Cemetery, Brightwater, Choctaw County, AL
