John Mixon, s. of Jehu and Piney Mixon, b. Feb 28, 1835, d. Dec 24, 1917 who had come to her part of the country from another state, the son of Jehu and Piney Mixon who had settled in Carroll County, GA He was a Confederate Soldier, member of Company "A", 43rd AL Inf. - b. in Carroll County, GA, Feb 28, 1835.  He m. Phereby Delilah Mixon#1056, dau. of Jehu and Fereby Woodham Mixon (see #989).  They lived for a while in Wilcox County, and later in Conecuh County. Note tombstone has Phereby’s name spelled “Phariobe”:  Both bur. Bermuda Community Cemetery, Conecuh County, AL

(Note: John Leslie Mixson listed this as a separate individual but there is some evidence this is the same son as Jasper)
